Simi and Piyush: Family Overcame Obstacles to Buy First Home

In 2007, Marlboro natives Simi and Piyush decided to move back to New Jersey from Texas, where they had been for two years because of Piyush’s job. Even though the federal tax credit was available at the time, the family states they still would have purchased their home without it. The couple did face a challenge, though, when days before the closing they encountered problems with the mortgage.
